electronic drum set
1. Principle and structure
Principle: The electronic drum picks up the vibration signal generated by physical percussion into the module
through the trigger (TRIGGER), and the module converts the signal into the required timbre, and then turns it
into the sound that can be heard by the human ear through the speaker or headphones.
2. Classification
External sensor type: Installing the sensor TRIGGER on the edge of the normal traditional jazz drum set can
retain the original sound of the drum, and at the same time, the part received by the TRIGGER can be applied
to other timbres to create double pronunciation.
Drum skin simulation and multi-sensor type: Drum skin simulation (also called mesh drum head) combines the
dual texture of drum skin and TRIGGER. When hitting the mesh drum head, the sound volume is lower than
that of the traditional rubber drum head, and the drummer can adjust its tension more according to his own
preferences. It can even receive the delicate texture of the drum brush and wheel drum made by humans,
and its interior is a panel with multiple TRIGGERs installed inside, so it can also make the effect of a drum frame.
3. Features
Real sound: Electronic drums can provide rich instrument sounds and simulate the timbre of various real drums.
Real feel: Especially for drum skin simulation and multi-sensor electronic drums, the hitting feel is close to that of
real drums.
Space saving: All-in-one and drum skin simulation and multi-sensor electronic drums are usually small in size,
easy to carry and store.
4.Key points for purchase
Drum plate: Standard drum plate, cymbal, hi-hat, bass drum, foot drum plate and pedal all have force sensing,
and different states of the pedal can determine the change of drum plate timbre. The surface should be smooth
and free of particles.
Display: High resolution and contrast.
Tone: Many types, more than 215 tones are preferred, and the timbre and volume of each drum plate can be
freely set, and can be saved for use.
Drum set mode: You can arbitrarily select two-thirds of the preset drum sets and one-third of the user drum
sets for users to set the parameters such as drum plate timbre and volume.
Music: More than 50 songs can be appreciated and learned. Preset music can be used to turn off percussion
learning, and there is an indicator light to prompt learning.
Speed setting: You can use "+/-" to adjust or freely tap the drum pad to set the speed of the music.
Metronome: You can freely set the speed of the metronome and the volume of the beat "tick" sound.
Power supply: AC and DC power supply are best.
Interface: At least there are interfaces for each drum pad/cymbal/pedal, headphone interface, line output
interface, and MIDI output interface.
5. Application field
Electronic drums have been widely used in various types of music, such as pop music, rock music, jazz,
electronic dance music, etc. In addition, in movie scenes, the performance of electronic drums has also
won enthusiastic responses from the audience.
In short, electronic drums are a very useful and fascinating instrument. Through continuous learning and
practice, players can master this skill and achieve more in their music career.
